SUMMARY:Marksmanship Day for all Cadets - Come out to Qualify for Marksmanship Levels and Badges
DESCRIPTION:Sunday December 14 \n1000 hrs to 1600 hrs   (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM) \nAll cadets can participate to learn marksmanship skills (Cadet Daisy Air Rifle) and score on targets to earn Cadet Marksmanship Qualification Level Badges ranging from “Marksman” to “Distinguished”. \nDress is comfortable civilian sports/athletic clothes\, easy to move in. \n10:00 hrs – 12:00 hrs  Cadets will receive refresher training for safe handling of the Daisy Air Rifle and safe operation of a marksmanship range in the morning as well as time to practice using ‘grouping’ targets. \nLunch will be provided at no cost to cadets or parents. \n1300 hrs – 1500 hrs Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in Relays using Grouping Targets and have their best scores evaluated for qualification levels/badges. \n1500 – 1545 hrs  Cadets will disassemble the range equipment and be dismissed for parent pickup at 1600 hrs (4:00 PM) \nFor safety reasons\, spectators are not permitted for this event.  Our Cadet Correspondent will be taking lots of photos and sharing them on our social media accounts.

DESCRIPTION:Cadets will earn 3 Community Service Hours for participating in this event.\n\n9:45 AM CADETS ARE TO MEET ON DUNDAS STREET IN THE DELTA ARMOURIES PARKING LOT (DUNDAS ST. BETWEEN WATERLOO ST AND WELLINGTON)\nDundas St will be closed to vehicles so please drop your cadet off as close as possible (Waterloo St. is typically open until shortly before the parade forms up) \nThe Parade will form up on Dundas Street and proceed to the Cenotaph.  A Remembrance Day Service will take place followed by the Parade Marching Off (Dufferin Ave) for dismissal. \nDRESS FOR CADETS: \nC1 Uniform (for those who have it): Cadet Toque\, Cadet Parka\, Black Tunic\, Lanyard\, White Dress Shirt\, Tie\, Black Cadet Gloves\, Belt\, Pants\, Wool Socks\, Boots. \nCadets who have C5 Uniform only:  C5A – Cadet Toque\, Black T-Shirt\, Black Cadet Gloves\, Belt\, Pants\, Wool Socks\, Boots\, Parka (cadet coat or your own coat if you have not yet been issued to Parka). \nCadets who do not yet have a Uniform:  All cadets can participate in the parade\, even if you have not yet received your uniform.  Wear comfortable\, warm clothes (dress for the weather). \nSee Figure 4-A for Poppy Placement on Jacket. \nWe hope to have the full unit – every cadet – on parade to show our support to London’s Veteran community and families of Veterans who are no longer with us. \nFollowing the parade\, we will walk from downtown to our building (HMCS PREVOST) and lunch will be provided for all cadets. \nInstead of evening training\, we are planning afternoon training and activities and parents can pick up cadets after work (4-6 PM). \nEvening training is cancelled given participation in the parade during the day.

DESCRIPTION:Last week the letter (link is below) from the London Branch of the Navy League of Canada was handed out outlining the upcoming Fall Tag Days Fundraiser in on Oct 4 and 5.  Below is a recap: \nUniforms: Cadets are to wear C1 Uniform (white cap\, tunic\, white shirt) with Parka and black gloves if cold out.  Cadets who do not yet  have a uniform can wear comfortable clothes\, appropriate for the weather (jeans are fine if not ripped/torn). \nWhat is Tagging?\nCadets will be at one of 6 locations (grocery stores along Wellington Rd S) \, at the main entrances to hand out Navy League of Canada ‘tags’ and be available to accept donations from the people visiting and/or shopping at each location. . \nTiming: \n\nCadets and a Parent to Meet at our building (HMCS PREVOST)\, 19 Becher St\, London\, ON N6C 1A4  \n\n\nSat / Sun Morning: 09:00 to 13:00 (1 p.m.) *Lunch will be provided at our building for these cadets each day\n\nor \n\nSat / Sun Afternoon: 13:00 (1 p.m.). to 17:00 (5 p.m.)\n\nSea Cadets participating will need to have their parent/guardian to stay with them for the duration of each shift to help ensure the safety of cadets \nOur Corps Officers and/or Civilian Instructors (CI)  will drive to each location frequently to check on cadets and parents\, and assist if needed. \nPlease encourage your child to participate.  Some cadets have signed up and there are a few spots still available across all timeframes. \nPlease contact us by email 37sea@cadets.gc.ca or phone 519 432-9736 to let us know when you are available to help out. \nThank you! \nRCSCC COURAGEOUS \n			\n				\n					\n						\n							\n							Loading...\n						\n					\n					\n						\n							\n							Taking too long?\n						\n						\n							\n								 Reload document							\n							|\n							\n								 Open in new tab							\n					\n				\n			\n		\n

SUMMARY:Tuesday Training Night 6:30 - 9:00 PM - Orange Shirt Day and Uniform Exchange Night
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation\, also known as Orange Shirt Day\, cadets and staff may choose to wear an Orange Shirt with civilian (comfortable sports cloths) during Sept 30 Training Night. \nNational Day for Truth and Reconciliation takes place each year on September 30 and honours the survivors of residential schools and the children who never returned home\, their families\, and communities. This day is dedicated to recognizing the resilience of Indigenous communities and committing to a future of understanding\, healing\, and unity. \nOrange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual\, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools\, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”. The orange t-shirt is a symbol of the stripping away of culture\, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations. \nIn Ontario\, the Cadet Program takes pride in maintaining our strong ties to local Indigenous communities through our cadet corps/squadrons. Cadets have opportunities to learn about traditional Indigenous knowledge and cultivate meaningful relationships with local Indigenous communities\, fostering a spirit of reconciliation. \nIt behooves all Canadians to learn about the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada\, and reconciliation requires each of us to do our part to educate ourselves\, understand the pain\, and work in partnership on the path forward. On Tuesday\, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the ongoing impacts the residential schools\, and commit to fostering an inclusive environment within the Cadet Program that removes barriers and cherishes their strong ties with the land and our communities. \nVisit the resources by Canadian Heritage to learn more about the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/campaigns/national-day-truth-reconciliation.html \n Cadets can also bring in uniform parts (clean\, washed please) for exchange in size if they have been outgrown. \nWe will be working over the next few weeks to complete uniform exchanges for existing cadets and will then move to sizing and ordering of uniforms for new cadets. New cadet uniforms are ordered and issued when they arrive – please note this can take several weeks to months depending on demand\, the item and size.  We thank you in advance for your patience.
